An Indispensable Friendship

Friendships are somewhat not hard to get. But not all friendship are good friendship according to the reading. Even though I knew this before reading it, this reading gives me a better understanding and outlook on friendships. It talks about superficial friendship, selfish friendships and real friendship. As we all know everyone wants to actually have real friendships, no one want to be friends with somebody who fake or they can not trust. Sometimes people dont realize that something is fake until something comes up and they have no one to turn to. Just have to choose your friends wisely.

Personal Narrative

Growing up an only child can be boring at times.Even though I was spoiled by my mom because I was the only child, I still wanted a younger sibling to come to,someone who would bring my excitment to my home. Finally when I was 15,my mother was pregnant with my sister Kamara. Around 11 o clock saturday night my mother started to feel contractions.So we hopped into the car and drove all the way to New-York Presbytarian hospital, because my mother refused to go to a hospital in brooklyn,she says they treat you better in manhattan. Around an hour later we reached the hospital, which my mother was checked into Maturnity. Come to find out my mother waterbroked around 5 o clock that evening when she was on her way somewhere but she didn't pay that any mind wow. By the time I entered the room of which my mother was in she was already drugged up with epidermal, which wwas funny to me because my mother acts funny whenever she under medication. I was too exhausted to even watch and laugh at her so I feel asleep on the reclining chair,by her hospital bed. The next morning my mother gave birth to my sister, surprisingly I was fascinated to watch but later then became light headed and had to sit down.Wacthing the birth was a bad idea for me because I'm easily grossed out. But it was a once in a life time experience to actually see the birth of my sister.

The Beautiful Laughing Sister's

Before reading this article I had specific knowledge about the mistreatment and abuse that was going on in the middle east.I knew that their were killings, but never knew that they would just raid innocent people's homes,destroyed their belongings. i never knew that their own security police who I believe their job is to protect people not raped and impregenate little girl. Reading this is very upsetting but it happens all over the world. Even though it is disturbing, it still happens till this day. People are not able to speak up or they would be put in jail and tortured to death. Those who could not take the abuse would kill themselves or try to escape to find a better life, like the sister's in this article.

Medical Marijuana

Before reading this article all I really knew was the controversy on whether or not marijiuana should be legalized.After reading this article I have found out how useful it can be for people with particular medical issues. I've learn that it helps with nausea,vomiting,anxiety,depression. It can also help HIV patients cope with the side effects of their medication. By stopping the nausea and increase their appetitte. Even though cronic use of this drug can also lead o lung disease in the future it still has benefits for medical and psycological problems. It is highly argued over but I say if cigarettes are legal and have no benficial uses and it can also cause lung disease as well as cancer, why not legalize marijiuana.

Eye Communication

Before reading this article all I knew about eye communication is that you can look someone in the eye and probably tell what there thinking depending and the situation and the relationship between those indiviuals. After reading this article I have come to find out that the average length of a gaze is 2.95 seconds. In different countries such as Japan people tend to gaze at one another for short periods of time, because it shows lack of respect. This article also tells us that you may increase your blinking if your uncomfortable or under stress. When interrogating police seem to watch your eyes because exces blinking cue them to detect lying.

Vaccinations now availlable

Before reading this article I knew that the H1N1 virus vaccinations should be available in October. After reading this article I have found out that America has purchased around 195 million doses. Even though they have purchased these vaccinations we will not be receiving all at one time. From outside resources I have learned that America should receive another shipment next month after this batch is done. I knew that the people who are at a greater risk are pregnant women children, young adults and people with chronic lung disease. I have learned that H1N1 virus has cause more than 4,100 deaths. I have also learned that many countries have stopped counting cases so the number of those infected can be greatly higher. What I would like to know is the differences between the nasal spray and the flu shot.

Bilingual Children

Before reading this article all that I knew was that a lot of children in America are bilingual, due to having mix cultures. Those who have mix cultures tend to learn both languages quicker. After reading this article I have learned that the reason why they learn these languages quicker because both languages are spoken to them fluently at home or at school. I have also learned by them learning these two languages simultaneously they also tend to mix their grammar. I have also learned that 2.5 million school age children that fluently speak English outside tend to speak a different language at home. What I would like to know is how is it taught at home differently from school
